Food safety and quality are essential components for the protection of public healthand economic development.
From 16-17 October 2017, exhibitions and conference organizer Omanexpo will hold the second Food Safety Oman Conference at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre.
The conference, which elicited an enthusiastic response from industry stakeholders and professionals in its inaugural edition, will once again provide an avenue for the exchange of ideas and strategies among policy makers and various stakeholders on issues relating to food policy and regulations as well as innovative approaches and technological advancements for the assurance of food safety and quality in the Sultanate.
The conference program is overseen by an advisory committeecomposed of of senior food safety experts from Muscat Municipality, Ministry of Regional Municipalities & Water Resources, Khimji Ramdas, Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance (HABC), NSF International, Exova, Bureau Veritas, City Seasons Hotel Muscat, Al Bustan Palace, A Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Al Jarwani Hospitality, Renaissance Services SAOG, and GWR Food Safety.
The topics covers current relevant issues as Food Safety and Environment, Regulatory Environment, Presenting Best-Practice Case Studies to Help and Identify How to Tackle Critical Issues in Food Safety, Food Handlers Training, Food Inspection, Supply Chain, Logistics and Packaging and New Technologies.
The conference will also feature a brainstorming session between food officers from Muscat Municipality and food safety experts from the private and public sector. The session is aimed at discussing the key factors in improving the health situation of restaurants, developing the food inspection systems in the country, and enabling and building a sustainable food safety culture in the Sultanate.
